Gifts for the new school year
As part of the “Let’s Get the Child Ready for School” campaign, people most often bring thin and thick notebooks ruled in lines and squares, covers of various sizes, ballpoint and gel pens, simple and colored pencils, rulers, compasses, protractors, drawing sets, highlighters, plasticine, erasers, sharpeners, backpacks, shoe bags, and pencil cases.
You can donate not only school supplies but also school and sports clothing and comfortable shoes for children aged six to 17: skirts, sundresses, trousers, jackets, shirts, turtlenecks, T-shirts.
All items must be new and in intact packaging, clothing with tags. Each donor will be greeted by volunteers who will receive and check the items, sort them, and help pack them into boxes. Then the humanitarian aid will be delivered to the recipients. Anastasia Bogdanova became a volunteer three years ago. Today Anastasia is one of the volunteers at the humanitarian aid collection centers “Moscow Helps” and supports students living in new regions as part of the “Let’s Get the Child Ready for School” campaign.
“The educational process is the first step to a new level in every student’s life. Throughout the summer, I repeatedly went to the shifts at the ‘Moscow Helps’ headquarters and daily accepted school supplies for boys and girls. But I also actively participated in the campaign myself, bringing squared notebooks and rulers, sets of pencils, markers, and pens, as well as drawing albums,” shared Anastasia Bogdanova.
She believes that everyone can make the world a better place, so she plans to continue supporting those who are currently in difficult life situations. To volunteers who are just starting their journey, Anastasia advises studying the fields, choosing the events they like, and doing a good deed.
“Houses of Kindness”
Until September 6, “Houses of Kindness” of the “Moscow Helps” project are open in the capital. At 30 festival venues across the city, volunteers are accepting gifts for participants of the special military operation, children living in new regions, and animals from shelters. Residents can choose a convenient drop-off point at on the special website.
Children need stationery, soft and educational toys, board games, books with interesting stories, coloring books and albums, as well as confectionery products. For pets from shelters, Moscow residents bring dry and wet food, treats, toys, tick drops, and absorbent diapers.
City residents can give servicemen men’s gift sets, cotton T-shirts, tank tops and socks, shoe insoles, shaving gels and disposable razors, shampoos, toothpastes and toothbrushes, wet and dry wipes.
Residents of new and border regions can also be supported at 15 humanitarian aid collection centers “Moscow is helping”. They accept long-lasting food products, personal hygiene items, children’s goods, new clothing, bedding, stationery, and other necessary items year-round.
