Chengdu, August 27 /Xinhua/ — A leading group from the Western Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army of China /WTPC PLA/ was dispatched to the Xizang Autonomous Region in southwest China on Thursday morning to organize the participation of servicemen in joint rescue operations to deal with the aftermath of a mudslide in Gyirong /Jilong/ County.
The group, deployed on the Y-20 military transport aircraft of the PLA 33rd Contingent, is organizing rescue operations involving military personnel to assist in disaster relief.
