PJSC “KAMAZ” and the special equipment plant “Phoenix” have created a new model of an aerial platform vehicle based on the new generation K5 chassis. The machine is designed for operation in challenging conditions and meets the current requirements of construction, utilities, and industrial enterprises.
The aerial work platform based on the high-tech KAMAZ-65657 chassis is a modern solution for high-altitude tasks, combining high performance, safety, and maneuverability. The key advantage of this innovation is a record working lift height of 54 meters with a basket load capacity of up to 400 kg. This allows a team of three specialists with tools to perform tasks at the level of high-rise buildings, power line supports, masts, and other facilities without the need for additional equipment.
Thanks to the wheel formula of the KAMAZ-65657 chassis (6×4) and well-balanced weight distribution (curb weight – 21100 kg, full weight – 29000 kg), the truck-mounted aerial platform maintains good maneuverability and stability even in confined spaces. The 360° rotation radius of the bucket and the large horizontal outreach expand the working area and simplify access to hard-to-reach sections.
The design features a reliable lifting unit characterized by smooth operation, precise positioning of the basket, and durability of components. A spacious 550-liter fuel tank provides extended autonomous operation without frequent refueling, which is especially important for fieldwork at remote sites.
The vehicle dimensions (10460×2550×4000 mm) and the 4550 mm wheelbase allow free movement on public roads and access to most construction sites. At the same time, the equipment complies with current axle load regulations, which simplifies logistics and reduces administrative costs during operation.
The chassis of the KAMAZ-65657 is specially designed for heavy superstructures. The 6×4 wheel formula with dual tires on the rear bogie ensures the vehicle’s unwavering stability when deploying the 54-meter boom to full extension. The vehicle’s total weight reaches 29 tons, providing an enormous strength reserve for the frame.
This unit is designed for servicing power transmission lines, wind turbines, installing complex industrial metal structures, communication towers, and facade work on high-rise buildings. Among the main advantages of the truck-mounted aerial platform is its impressive working height: the unit easily reaches the level of the 16th to 18th floors, covering the needs of most construction and municipal tasks of increased complexity. It is also worth noting the ultra-strong octagonal boom: the boom profile has 8 angles and is made from high-strength Swedish steel. This reduces the overall weight of the structure, minimizes wind resistance, and practically eliminates play or swaying of the platform at maximum outreach.
The specialized equipment features an intelligent multi-level safety system. The electronics continuously monitor the slightest changes: chassis tilt angle, load weight, boom and outrigger positions. In case of critical load, the automation smoothly blocks hazardous movements. An emergency hydraulic pump is provided for the safe descent of workers in case the main engine fails. The operator can control the unit not only from the lower cabin but also using a wireless remote control, being close to the assemblers or directly in the basket.
