Lhasa, August 26 /Xinhua/ — On Wednesday, near the “Gyirong” checkpoint in the Tibet Autonomous Region /Southwest China/, a landslide occurred, presumably with people missing.
According to the Emergency Management Office of Gyirong County in the Shigatse Prefecture, the landslide cut off the roads leading to the “Gyirong” checkpoint from the Chinese side and also caused disruptions to communication and power supply.
The “Gyirong” checkpoint is the main land border crossing on the China-Nepal border.
