Over the past year, specialists from Mosgortur, which is subordinate to the city Department of Culture, presented Moscow’s experience in the field of children’s recreation at more than 20 federal and regional platforms.
Among the main topics are organizing programs for children, training counselors, creating an accessible environment, and managing camps. Sharing such practices helps develop unified professional standards in the field of children’s recreation. Moscow, in this context, strengthens its role as a center of educational innovation.
Forums, seminars, and trainings
Anastasia Udalova, head of the department for the development and implementation of children’s recreation programs, shared the capital’s experience in organizing children’s recreation at industry events. In February, at the Program Camps Rally in Saint Petersburg, the expert acquainted colleagues with approaches to evaluating the results of children’s programs and explained how to take the child’s impressions into account when analyzing their effectiveness. In April, at the “Architects of Summer” seminar-meeting in Khabarovsk, Anastasia Udalova presented the “Moscow Holidays” project — from the principles of selecting venues and creating visual identity to the personnel training system.
Another area of experience exchange was the development of inclusive programs. Anastasia Revutskaya, the head of inclusive projects, conducted in-person training sessions for specialists from cultural institutions in Moscow and Veliky Novgorod on technologies for supporting people with disabilities, and also spoke at the national Abilympics championship. In June, she organized a series of online seminars for specialists from cultural and additional education institutions of the Volga Federal District and representatives of the tourism sector of the Tyumen region. The sessions were dedicated to proper communication and interaction with people with disabilities and limited health opportunities.
The head of the Coordination Department for Recreation and Leisure Facilities, Artem Chikin, shared management practices for children’s camps. In April, he spoke at the “All-Russian School of Children’s Camp Leaders — 2026” at the All-Russian Children’s Center “Ocean” in Vladivostok. More than 200 leaders from 53 subjects of the Russian Federation were introduced to tools for strategic analysis and planning. In particular, the discussion focused on assessing the camp’s activities considering external factors and internal resources, using the strategic ladder methodology to move from general ideas to specific steps, and working with feedback from children and their parents.
Metropolitan methods of training camp counselors at industry events were presented by Olga Vavilova, a teacher at the Central School of Moscow Camp Counselors. In February, at the first musical forum for children’s recreation organizers “PROzvuchi” in Moscow, she spoke about the use of musical neural networks in the work of camp counselors. In March, at the educational forum “Children’s Recreation in the Educational Space of Russia” in Vladivostok, Olga Vavilova conducted a series of educational sessions. They were dedicated to quiz development, competent feedback collection, as well as the use of digital services and neural networks in preparing camp counselors.
In addition, Olga Vavilova became the winner of the methodological development competition of the all-Russian project “League of Counselors” with a workshop on strategies for successful communication. In the summer, she continued providing methodological support for the project: conducted webinars on game design for competition participants and a series of sessions on game practice for curator-mentors of the “League of Counselors” academy.
International Camp Counselor Teams Festival
Mosgortur not only represents Moscow practices at industry events but also creates platforms for professional communication with colleagues from the regions. From February 27 to March 1, the International Festival of Counselor Teams was held at the suburban camp “Raduga” with the support of the Moscow Department of Culture. It brought together about 200 participants from Russia, Belarus, and Uzbekistan, as well as specialists from the Tula, Vladimir, and Kaluga regions, Saint Petersburg, Krasnodar Krai, and the republics of Crimea and Tatarstan.
The program included quests, games, and professional discussions. For leaders of teaching teams, meetings with experts on value-based management, trends, and staff motivation were also organized.
All initiatives of Mosgortur are implemented within the framework of systematic work on the development of professional standards in the field of children’s recreation and correspond to the goals of the national project “Youth and Children”.
