Beijing, August 24 /Xinhua/ — Wang Huning, Chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, called on CPPCC members to contribute ideas and make efforts to promote modernization of agriculture, rural areas, and urban development.
Wan Huning, who is also a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), made this call while presiding over the 54th meeting of the chairperson and vice chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee of the 14th session.
Wan Huning emphasized the need to align thoughts and actions with the CPC Central Committee’s scientific assessment of the current economic situation, as well as with its decisions and plans on economic work, uniting broad forces to promote sustainable, high-quality, and positive economic development.
He called for fulfilling duties and taking responsibility in accordance with the central tasks of the party and the state.
Van Hunin also noted the need to leverage the advantages of organizations such as the All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese and the China Zhigong Party /Party of Pursuit of Justice/ to secure greater support from overseas Chinese.
At the meeting, the report on the work of the VK NPKSK for the first half of 2026 was reviewed and adopted, which will be presented at the 18th session of the Bureau of the VK NPKSK of the 14th convocation, scheduled for the third decade of August. -0-
