Bank lending to legal entities (including bonds) increased by 1.5% (+0.4% in June), about one-third of the growth was provided by the largest state-owned companies, the rest was distributed among borrowers from various sectors. On an annual basis, the portfolio grew by 13.8% (+13.7% a month earlier).

Preliminary data indicate that the growth of household mortgage debt has somewhat slowed down (to +0.4% compared to +1.0% in June): the market cooled after the deadlines for tightening the conditions of the “Family Mortgage” were postponed. The annual growth rate was +10.7% (+11.0% the previous month). The consumer loan portfolio continued to grow actively (+1.1% after +1.3% in June), including in the cash loan segment. Year-on-year, the portfolio increased by 2.5% (in June +1.0%).

Household funds in banks increased moderately by 0.3%, the same as in June. The restrained dynamics can be explained by a revival in consumer activity and sustained demand for cash. Corporate funds rose by 0.6% after nearly zero growth in June.

The banking sector’s profit amounted to 443 billion rubles (+18% as of June): the growth was due to a reduction in allocations to reserves for corporate loans. The total financial result was slightly lower – 422 billion rubles – due to a negative revaluation of debt securities reflected in equity.
