About 3,400 developers from 35 cities in Russia have participated in the Tender Hack hackathons series since 2020. Over six years, 34 IT competitions have been held in nine cities across the country, organized by the capital. The project’s goal is to give talented professionals the opportunity to showcase themselves and present ideas for developing supplier portal services. This was reported by Maria Bagreeva, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, Head of the Moscow Department of Economic Policy and Development.
“Tender Hack hackathon series brings together talented developers from across the country—from schoolchildren and students to experienced IT specialists. Over six years, about 3.4 thousand participants have taken part in the project as members of more than 700 teams from 35 Russian cities. Among the finalists are representatives from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Sochi, and other cities. For them, participating in the IT tournament is an opportunity to work on a real digital product, present their ideas to experts, and gain practical experience. At the same time, the project helps to improve the suppliers’ portal used by government customers and entrepreneurs from various regions of the country for conducting small-volume procurements,” noted Maria Bagreeva.
Tender Hack hackathons during the project implementation took place in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Rostov-on-Don, Perm, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk, Samara, Kazan, and Krasnoyarsk. This year, three hackathons have already been held, and another tournament is planned to take place in Nizhny Novgorod in September.
“The best solutions proposed by participants of the Tender Hack hackathons are being implemented in the supplier portal’s operations. Among them are the creation of an automatic bidding bot, the formation of a regional map with analytics and key performance indicators calculation, the development of a mascot and functionality for contract conclusion via QR code, the implementation of smart search and a group selection service for standard product units based on their characteristics. In the future, it is planned to introduce intelligent services for justifying the initial purchase price and for searching product prices from open sources,” said the head of the Moscow City Department for Competitive Policy.

As Sergey Sobyanin noted earlier, the supplier portal continues to expand presence in the regions. Since the beginning of 2026, customers from the Kursk, Jewish Autonomous, and Lipetsk regions, as well as from the Donetsk People’s Republic, have joined the platform. As a result, the number of participating regions has reached 47. Currently, more than 60 thousand customers are registered on the portal, to whom over 410 thousand suppliers from across the country submit offers.
Supplier Portal started operating in 2013. It is used for automating small-volume purchases. The portal has become an effective tool for interaction between the government and business. The platform’s catalog features over 3.6 million unique items — goods, works, and services. More than 1,500 contracts are concluded on the platform daily.
The functional customer of the portal is the metropolitan Department of Competition Policy, and its technical development is overseen by Department of Information Technology of the City of Moscow.
