From August 20 to 21, the 5th International Children’s Cultural Forum will take place at the Moscow Palace of Pioneers on Vorobyovy Gory. About 450 Moscow schoolchildren will participate. The children will showcase their talents and knowledge in the fields of music, choreography, theater and circus, cinema and animation, museums and visual arts, literature and journalism, and will also meet with renowned cultural figures.
“This year, about two thousand children aged 12–17 came to the forum at the Moscow Palace of Pioneers. These are children from all 89 regions of Russia and 17 foreign countries, including Vietnam, Egypt, and Indonesia. Among the participants, one in five is a resident of the capital. The Moscow delegation included children who achieved high results in city creative competitions. The forum for schoolchildren organizes master classes, creative workshops, and lectures by industry professionals, as well as concerts and meetings with experts,” reported the press service
The program includes six creative disciplines. The most popular among Muscovites were such fields as music, choreography, as well as theater and circus. They were chosen by 123, 103, and 93 people respectively. Knowledge in the fields of museums and visual arts will be demonstrated at the forum by 76 children; in literature and journalism — by 35 city schoolchildren; and in the film industry — by 18 participants.
The curator of the music direction will be Olga Khomova, General Director of the State Academic Chapel of St. Petersburg; of choreography — Honored Artist of Russia Egor Druzhinin; of theater and circus — Artistic Director of the Maxim Gorky Moscow Art Academic Theater Sergey Bezrukov and General Director of the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus on Vernadsky Avenue Edgard Zapashny. The literature and journalism direction will be overseen by Dmitry Bak, Director of the State Museum of the History of Russian Literature named after V.I. Dal; museums and visual arts — General Director of the State Central Theater Museum named after A.A. Bakhrushin Kristina Trubinova; film and animation — General Producer of one of the major Russian streaming services Gavriil Gordeev.
The main theme of the forum is “The Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia.” It will be dedicated to creative meetings, as well as joint projects of the participants, telling about the culture, traditions, and diversity of the peoples of our country.
The International Children’s Cultural Forum has been held since 2022 at the initiative of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation. Traditionally, the venue for the event is the Moscow Palace of Pioneers on Vorobyovy Gory.
