Students of Moscow colleges fulfill orders for the city and produce their own products while still studying. This year, they have created more than 20,000 items under the brand “Made by Moscow Colleges.” This was reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.
“Moscow is consistently developing the system of secondary vocational education, making training as practice-oriented as possible. Students of city colleges do not wait to receive their diplomas to start working and showing themselves. From the first year, in modern workshops and laboratories under the guidance of experienced mentors, young people create souvenirs, toys, designer textiles, and even urban objects and furniture for schools. This year, under their own brand, young craftsmen produced more than a thousand elements of street infrastructure, ten thousand poufs, cabinets, desks, and chairs for schools, and more than ten thousand designer products. By creating these items, students not only practice their skills but also see how the result of their work transforms familiar urban spaces, making them more functional and cozy. This once again proves that these young people’s professions are in demand in the capital,” said Anastasia Rakova.
An important social project for the capital city urban economy complex successfully implemented by students from seven colleges: Moscow College of Architecture and Urban Planning, College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26, Moscow Industrial College, Technological College No. 21, Moscow Technological College named after I.A. Likhachev, Polytechnic College No. 8 named after twice Hero of the Soviet Union I.F. Pavlov, and the Information Technology College “IT. Moscow.” The students produced 180 benches, 70 container sites, and 130 concrete spheres for city streets, as well as nearly 690 banners, which were placed on the facades of schools currently undergoing modernization.
Young people created products in college workshops and laboratories using high-tech CNC machines, milling machines, metalworking and vacuum forming machines. The students used industrial 3D printers, spray guns, woodworking equipment, and grinding machines.
By the beginning of the school year, students from the College of Architecture, Design and Reengineering No. 26, Moscow Industrial College, Technological College No. 21, and the I.A. Likhachev Moscow Technological College produced 7,200 small round poufs, 270 adjustable desks and chairs, over 390 benches, standing tables, shelves, and mats for schools, as well as 300 cabinet shelves, bedside tables, cabinets, and stands. In addition, the students participated in decorating school spaces: creating stained glass windows with the “Moscow Education” logo and patterns for covering entrance groups. They worked with wood, metal, fabrics, using CNC machines, 3D printers, welding, and sewing equipment.
Students from 17 capital city colleges produced over 10 thousand original products. These are textile and wooden items, printed materials, toys, and souvenirs. Among the most notable is the “Classics about Moscow” collection. It includes premium cotton T-shirts, shoppers, and baseball caps with quotes about the capital and graphic depictions of Russian writers. The centerpiece of the collection is the eponymous book featuring archival pre-revolutionary photographs and statements by Fyodor Dostoevsky, Mikhail Lermontov, Nikolai Gogol, Mikhail Bulgakov, and other authors.
The collection was showcased at the Government of Moscow’s booth at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The young people also developed a line of textiles and printed materials called “Tolstoy’s Diaries,” which they presented at the college forum in Gostiny Dvor. For the “Summer in Moscow” project, the students produced original T-shirts “There Is an Alternative” featuring lace and prints that reflect Russia’s cultural code.

Students’ products can be purchased at the Information Technology College “IT Moscow” (20 Akademika Millionshchikova Street) and Technological College No. 21 (4g Sirenevyy Boulevard).
Until September 6, the products are also showcased in five art pavilions of the project for promoting local brands “Made in Moscow”: “Samovar” and “Vishnya” on Arbat, “Box of Chocolates” on New Arbat, “Hot Air Balloon” at Trubnaya Square, and in the flagship pavilion “Summer Market” at Bolotnaya Square. The assortment includes T-shirts, shoppers, handmade silk scarves, blankets, notebooks, decor items, and souvenirs.
The history of the “Made by Moscow Colleges” brand began in December 2025. At that time, students of the Moscow Technological College named after I. A. Likhachev, as part of their educational and production practice, manufactured 150 sets of festive decorations for children’s clinics using high-tech CNC machines.
