In the renovated buildings under the “My School” program, open days will be held from August 24 to 29. You can visit them by pre-registration using the service “Mosbilet”. Guests can expect tours, engineering games, creative workshops, and other activities.

“This year, after reconstruction as part of the large-scale city program ‘My School,’ 100 school buildings will open. During tours of the renovated buildings, guests will be shown specialized classrooms, media centers that have replaced traditional libraries, multifunctional halls, and comfortable recreational areas in the corridors. In addition, everyone interested will be able to participate in games and workshops,” noted the press service of the capital city

Department of Education and Science.

Open House Days will last six days. From August 24 to 28, the updated schools can be visited from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM, and on August 29 — from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This was previously reported by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

Creativity about school

From August 24 to 28, from 14:00 to 19:30, there will be drawing master classes, as well as a creative contest. Participants will be invited to create a work on the theme “My Inspiration” or dedicate it to school. For example, to depict what inspires them before the start of the school year. Everyone will receive a gift, and those who wish can submit their work to the contest and compete for the main prizes.

On August 24, classes will be held at schools No. 1238 and 1018; on August 25, at schools No. 1400 and 950; on August 26, at schools No. 1430 named after Hero of Socialist Labor G.V. Kisunko and No. 953. On August 27, master classes are scheduled at schools No. 1516 and 2127, and on August 28, at schools No. 1770 and 1566 dedicated to the heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad.

Robotics and basics of electronics

Another area of the program will be dedicated to robotics. In the classes, participants will get acquainted with the basics of electronics and circuit design, learn the fundamental principles of how electrical circuits work, and try to assemble them on their own.

The first class will take place on August 24 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at school No. 218. Participants will get acquainted with a humanoid robot. Another meeting with such a robot will be held on August 28 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at school No. 236 named after Hero of the Soviet Union G.I. Shchedrin.

The program will conclude on August 29 with a session at school No. 656 named after A.S. Makarenko. From 10:00 to 12:00, you will be able to get acquainted with a robot dog there.

Dream district and waste sorting

On August 29, a special program will be prepared Moscow urban infrastructure complex. It will combine practical exercises, games, workshops, and lectures about how the city is structured and what engineering solutions are used in the renovated schools.

From 11:00 to 14:00, events of the Moscow Urban Economy Museum will take place. At school No. 851, there will be a practical session on waste sorting. Museum specialists will explain the principles of separate collection and recycling of secondary raw materials, rules for handling different types of waste, and analyze the most common mistakes in sorting. In addition, participants will learn about ways to reduce the amount of household waste.

At school No. 1400, a workshop will offer the opportunity to create a dream district. Using ready-made stencils, participants will cut out, paint, and glue buildings of various purposes — from residential houses to social facilities — and assemble their own model of an urban space. At school No. 1212, one can learn to make paper flowers using the origami technique.

At schools No. 1207 and 2129 named after Hero of the Soviet Union P.I. Romanov, a championship will be held for the board game “My Comfortable Moscow.” Participants will get acquainted with the work of specialists in the urban economy complex and try themselves as city managers by completing tasks on the capital’s map. This will help develop logic, teamwork skills, and interest in the structure of the metropolis.

An engineering game will be held at school No. 183. Participants will assemble models of a heat pipeline, gas pipeline, and stormwater network from constructor parts and get acquainted with their design principles.

Additionally, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, lectures on modern engineering solutions used in the reconstruction of educational institutions will be held at schools No. 851, 1400, 2127, 1207, 1363, 1212, 183, and 2129 named after Hero of the Soviet Union P.I. Romanov. Attendees will be told how energy efficiency and a comfortable microclimate are ensured, suitable acoustic conditions are created in classrooms and common school spaces, and lighting and coverings are selected.

Visitors will also learn about the operation of smart ventilation and a unified digital security system. It integrates video surveillance, access control, and dispatch management of the building’s engineering networks.

“As a result of the reconstruction, the second building, as the school is often called, has also turned into a smart building. A comfortable atmosphere in the school premises is created and maintained by about 40 engineering systems. The use of modern technologies and materials allows control over the quality of light, sound, heat, and fresh air. For the most part, the operation of these systems is invisible to the eye and perceived as a natural environment. Specialists from the urban management complex will explain to parents and students how optimal conditions for educational and developmental activities are ensured in the renovated schools,” the press service clarified.

Moscow Department of Capital Repairs.

The “My School” program has been in effect since 2024. This is the largest project for renovating school buildings in the history of Moscow. In 2024 and 2025, 55 facilities will be opened after reconstruction. This year, the renovation of another 100 school buildings will be completed.
