Moscow is strengthening its status as the main industrial and technological center of the country. This was stated on his channel in in the messenger “Max” Sergey Sobyanin reported.
“In 2025, metropolitan manufacturers managed to increase production output by 4.7 percent compared to 2024. In the first six months of 2026, production volumes have already grown by 12.5 percent,” wrote the Mayor of Moscow.

There are 4,735 industrial enterprises operating in the city, employing 767 thousand people — practically every 10th person engaged in the capital’s economy. Of these, by the end of the first half of 2026, more than 7,200 jobs were created at new modern enterprises. Over six months, 15 new high-tech industrial facilities with a total area of more than 500,000 square meters were put into operation in Moscow.
The status of the main industrial and scientific center of Russia defines Moscow’s unique role as a hub for the development and production of high-tech solutions demanded throughout the country.
By the end of 2025, Moscow manufacturers increased production by 4.7 percent compared to 2024. In the first half of 2026, growth amounted to 12.5 percent.
The key industries of the capital’s manufacturing sector include radio electronics (including photonics and microelectronics), electric vehicle manufacturing, aerospace, medical and pharmaceutical industries, as well as the food industry.
According to the results of the first half of 2026, most of these industries showed significant production growth.
In radio electronics, more than 870 industry enterprises create a component base for computer technology, telecommunications equipment, and automation systems. Production growth in the first half of 2026 amounted to 39.1 percent.
In pharmaceuticals, more than 100 industry enterprises ensure the production of vital medicines and vaccines. Production growth in the first half of 2026 amounted to 14.7 percent.
As for the production of medical devices, more than 220 industry enterprises manufacture high-tech medical devices, including first aid and emergency medical care products. Production growth in the first half of 2026 amounted to 16.8 percent.
In the aerospace industry, more than 70 enterprises are working on developing devices and systems for aviation and space. Production growth in the first half of 2026 amounted to 33.5 percent compared to the corresponding period last year.
