“Special attention is paid to maintaining the capital’s roads in regulatory condition. Every year, as part of preparing for the autumn-winter period, we carry out activities to renew the asphalt concrete pavement. This year, we completed asphalt repairs on Vyazemskaya Street, which is located in the Mozhaysky and Ochakovo-Matveyevsky districts and is part of the North-West Chord. In total, about 20 thousand square meters of roadway were renewed, after which marking was applied,” noted Petr Biryukov.
The previous repair on this section was carried out in 2022. One of the main reasons for conducting such work is the formation of ruts due to the high intensity of traffic flow. It creates discomfort for drivers and can negatively affect safety. Specialists regularly check the condition of the road surface of the highways, monitor the warranty periods, and carry out timely replacements. The work is mostly done at night when the traffic load is lower.
Road surface repair is carried out in several stages. First, the old asphalt is milled, then the inspection wells and storm drains are put in order, after which a new surface is laid. The final stage is the application of markings.
Modern technologies are used when working on the street and road network, and asphalt concrete mixtures are produced at city-owned plants.
