On August 22, the event “Unified Open Doors Day” will take place in Moscow, which will be joined by more than 420 libraries and cultural centers. Visitors will be able to learn about the work and opportunities of the institutions, as well as get acquainted with their clubs, creative and sports sections. This was reported by Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow.
“Cultural venues will organize about 2,500 events. These include dance and art classes, acting lessons. Also planned are performances based on fairy tales, local history lectures, excursions, film screenings, and quests,” noted Natalia Sergunina.
For example, at Library No. 180 named after N.F. Fedorov, there will be master classes on clay modeling and acrobatics; at Library No. 76 named after M.Yu. Lermontov, they will talk about the history of Russian poetry; and at Library No. 91 named after E.L. Voynich, visitors will learn about the intricacies of voice acting.
At Library No. 2 named after Yu.V. Trifonov, there will be a lecture “The War of 1941–1945 Through the Eyes of Artists.” At Library No. 243, participants can take part in the quest “Through Fire and Time,” where they will learn about the feats of the defenders of the Motherland.
The Meridian Cultural Center will organize basketball and robotics classes, while the Leader Cultural Center will offer an introduction to the basics of animation and a chance to try out being a designer.
The cultural center “Moskvich” will present the play “The Tale of Tsar Saltan,” and at library No. 93 named after A.A. Blok, Soviet cartoons can be watched.
The Gogol House is organizing a walk dedicated to the history of an old Moscow estate, which now houses a memorial museum and a scientific library. Russian romances and arias will be performed at a concert in Library No. 100. For guests of Library No. 186 named after S.A. Yesenin, a musical and poetic program will take place.
At Music and Sheet Music Library No. 17 named after P.I. Jurgenson, you can join the intellectual game “Cultural Code” dedicated to the country’s traditional crafts. And at Library No. 175, they will discuss folk tales of the world at a literary club meeting.
