Specialists urban infrastructure complex repairs are being carried out on Novokurkino Highway in the northwest of the capital. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.
“This year, we are carrying out a comprehensive overhaul of Novokurkino Highway, which runs from the MKAD to Mashkinskoye Highway. The main goal is to create comfortable conditions for drivers and pedestrians, and to organize convenient routes to residential neighborhoods, transport hubs, and socially significant facilities,” noted Petr Biryukov.
Specialists will completely replace the asphalt on the roadway and sidewalks — the total area of work will exceed 233,000 square meters.
One of the key elements of a comfortable urban environment is quality lighting. More than 180 lanterns with energy-efficient lamps will be installed on the territory. Special attention will be paid to pedestrian safety: uncontrolled crossings will be equipped with contrast lighting supports, making the zebra crossing and the person on it clearly visible to drivers in the dark.
For the convenience of city transport passengers, two modern bus shelters equipped with charging slots will be installed.
The final stage of the improvement will be landscaping: specialists will lay out a lawn on an area of about 66 thousand square meters.
When selecting objects for comprehensive repairs, the intervals between repairs, the condition of the road surface, traffic intensity, as well as proximity to socially significant facilities are taken into account.
