An important disclaimer is at the bottom of this article.

Science for a student is not only lectures, tests, and coursework. It is conferences, independent research, first publications, and the opportunity to make a name for oneself in the professional community already during studies. This is exactly the path chosen by the GUU student Mikhail Dorozhkin — and now his list of achievements includes one of the prestigious state scholarships.

Mikhail Dorozhkin, a 4th-year student at the Institute of Public Administration and Law of GUU, became the recipient of the A. I. Solzhenitsyn scholarship. Mikhail is studying Political Science and has been actively engaged in scientific research for several years.

Among the top ten

Each year, the A. I. Solzhenitsyn scholarship is awarded to only ten students from Russian universities. Selection takes into account academic achievements and research work, as well as original studies in the fields of literature, journalism, and political science.

The scholarship is granted for one academic year, and the amount of the monthly payment is 15 thousand rubles.

For Mikhail, victory was the result of several years of consistent work. His scientific journey began back in his first year: the student participated in conferences, presented his own projects, and published scientific articles.

When preparing the application, the professors of the State University of Management helped Mikhail compile the results of this work and systematize his scientific portfolio. It took into account everything — from high academic performance to scientific publications presented in eLIBRARY.RU — the largest Russian electronic library of scientific works.

A scholarship is not the end, but just a new stage

Mikhail does not intend to stop at what has been achieved. He is currently continuing his research work and preparing new articles for scientific publications included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission.

VAK — the Higher Attestation Commission — compiles a list of scientific journals, publications in which are of particular importance for researchers and are taken into account during the defense of candidate and doctoral dissertations. Therefore, publication in such journals is an important step for those who plan to connect their future with science.

Mikhail himself notes that he decided to apply specifically for the A. I. Solzhenitsyn scholarship not by chance:
“The choice of the A. I. Solzhenitsyn scholarship was driven by scientific interest as well as its prestige. I am incredibly glad that I managed to receive it!” shared Mikhail Dorozhkin.

In the future, the student plans to continue conducting research, publishing scientific papers, and developing in the chosen field.

Congratulations to Mikhail on his great achievement and we wish him new research, interesting scientific projects, and further successes!
