“KAMAZ,” together with its official partner, has launched a new model of fuel tanker truck – the ATZ 18-2 on the KAMAZ-65959 K5 generation chassis. The specialized vehicle is produced by the “UralSpecTrans” plant under the SEVEREST brand and is designed for transporting, temporary storage, and dispensing of light petroleum products.
The special equipment is based on the high-tech KAMAZ-65959 chassis, equipped with a modern inline six-cylinder KAMAZ R6 engine producing 483 hp and a torque of 2403 Nm, ensuring reliable operation under full load. The transmission is a mechanical 16-speed gearbox. The vehicle is fitted with a comfortable K5 cabin on a 4-point spring suspension with a modern onboard information system and improved driver workplace ergonomics. The base KAMAZ chassis (6×6) is equipped with single tires, which additionally enhance the vehicle’s off-road capabilities.
The key feature of the new model is the increased tank capacity of 18 m³ while maintaining the vehicle’s maximum all-terrain capabilities. During the design process, special attention was paid to the reliability of the tank mounting. It is fixed to the chassis frame on a swinging support and two supports with rigid bolted connections — this technology significantly reduces the load from the frame on the tank when driving on roads with challenging terrain.
The fuel tanker fully complies with the new ADR requirements (Agreement concerning the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road). The standard configuration includes a hydraulic pump drive and an increased diameter DU 40 dispensing hose to enhance refueling speed.
