Beijing, August 17 /Xinhua/ — A three-day symposium dedicated to the life and ideas of the late Chinese leader Jiang Zemin opened on Monday. August 17 marks the 100th anniversary of Jiang Zemin’s birth in China.
In his speech at the opening ceremony of the symposium, Cai Qi, a member of the Standing Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, called for in-depth research on the theory of the Three Represents, taking into account the conditions of the new era.
Jiang Zemin, born in August 1926, was elected General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee in 1989. He was the core of the third-generation leadership of the CPC Central Committee and the main creator of the Theory of the Three Represents. In 2022, Jiang Zemin passed away at the age of 96.
According to Cai Qi, it is necessary to deepen the understanding of the utmost importance of maintaining the Party’s comprehensive leadership and always firmly adhere to the unified centralized leadership of the CPC Central Committee.
Tsai Chi emphasized the importance of adapting Marxism to Chinese realities and the needs of the times, as well as pointed out the necessity of comprehensively advancing the building of a strong nation and national rejuvenation through modernization in the Chinese style.
He called for the steadfast promotion of high-quality development, strengthening confidence in Chinese culture to foster the prosperity of socialist culture, contributing to the building of a community with a shared future for humanity, and consistently implementing comprehensive and strict governance within the Party.
