Training camps were held in the military units of the Leningrad Military District, in which more than 250 students of the Military Training Center of SPbPU, studying under the training programs for officers and reserve soldiers, took part.
During the training camp, polytechnic students took the military oath and acquired command-methodological skills in the roles of commanders of signal troops units, anti-aircraft missile troops, armored vehicle units, and unmanned aerial systems troops. The students also mastered the operation of complex modern weapons, military equipment, and UAVs, and gained skills in performing duty in a 24-hour guard detail.
In the classes, the learners were trained to work as part of crews of hardware and communication stations, command posts, and anti-aircraft missile units in field conditions, acquired practical skills in deploying and engineering the command post, understood the techniques and rules for operating and repairing armored vehicles, gained basic knowledge in tactical medicine, and mastered the ability to pilot various types of UAVs.
Students from the Department of Communications of the Military Training Center, under the guidance of instructors, planted an alley and installed a commemorative plaque in one of the military units in honor of the 100th anniversary of the organization of military training at Peter the Great St. Petersburg Polytechnic University.
At the conclusion of the training camp, the graduate students of the VOC successfully passed the final certification.
From July 30 to August 3, at the locations of the training camps and on the parade ground of the Military Training Center, traditional ceremonial events took place with the raising of the State Flag of the Russian Federation and the flag of the Military Training Center, during which students who completed military training programs were presented with officially issued conscription certificates.
