Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev held a working meeting with the Governor of Kamchatka Krai, Vladimir Solodov. The main topics were issues related to the agro-industrial and fishing complexes, the development of rural areas, as well as the implementation of environmental initiatives on the peninsula.

The Kamchatka Territory is demonstrating stable results in various sectors of the agro-industrial complex, with increasing volumes of agricultural product processing. This year, more than 830 million rubles have been allocated to support the region’s agro-industrial complex. Dmitry Patrushev emphasized the importance of timely delivery of funds to the farmers.

In particular, the region is developing vegetable farming. In 2025, the Kamchatka greenhouse complex was launched. The enterprise ensures uninterrupted year-round supplies of local cucumbers and tomatoes, and its own capacities allow for the production of about 3 thousand tons of fresh vegetables annually.

The Kamchatka Territory traditionally maintains its status as one of Russia’s key fishing regions, providing a significant share of the national catch and fish product output. During the meeting, special attention was given to the preliminary results of the salmon run.

Dmitry Patrushev and Vladimir Solodov also touched upon the issue of implementing the state program “Comprehensive Development of Rural Areas.” Social facilities are actively being constructed in the region.

The construction of a new building for School No. 1 in the city of Yelizovo, with a capacity of 500 seats, is currently being completed. Thanks to its opening, primary school education will be organized in a single shift. The opening is scheduled for September 1, 2026. Construction of the Ice Palace in the city of Yelizovo and a two-story sports complex in the Klyuchevskoye rural settlement is ongoing.

Environmental issues were discussed separately. As part of the national project “Environmental Well-being,” measures are being implemented in the region for the raising and disposal of sunken vessels, the creation of infrastructure for sorting, neutralizing, processing, and burying solid municipal waste, forest conservation, as well as the clearing of water bodies.

Kamchatka Krai has become one of the active participants in the competitions of the Presidential Fund for Environmental and Nature Conservation Projects – over two years, 42 projects were submitted from the region, 10 of which received support. The initiatives cover areas such as the preservation of rare and endangered animal species and their habitats, biodiversity monitoring, development of human resources potential in specially protected natural areas, support for ecotourism and volunteering in protected territories, as well as informational and educational projects for the protection of unique ecosystems, animals, and plants listed in the Red Book.
