At the Tutayev Motor Plant, a subsidiary of KAMAZ in the Yaroslavl region, training was conducted for service center employees on maintenance and repair of R6 engines. The five-day course was organized for the first time.

A group of 10 people completed the training – representatives of service centers from Saratov, Saint Petersburg, Samara, Kursk, and Orenburg regions. Marina Petrova, head of the production technology preparation bureau, gave the guests a tour of the factory. The first days of training were devoted to theory. Chief designer for advanced engines Eduard Alimgulov spoke about the design and structure of R6 engines, head of the warranty service department Artem Ryzhov – about interaction with service centers, design engineer Andrey Streltsov – about the electronic control system and diagnostics of R6 engines. The training concluded with practical sessions.

Recall that in 2026, the Tutaev Motor Plant will implement the first stage of the project “Organization of production of R6 engines with a working volume of 13 liters.” In the spring, a section for the assembly and testing of inline R6 engines—a new product type for PJSC “TMZ”—was set up in the mechanical assembly workshop. Since June, these engines have been serially supplied to the assembly line of the Petersburg Tractor Plant, with 50 units delivered. Six tractors equipped with R6 engines rated at 430 and 460 hp have been produced; they are successfully operated in various regions of the Russian Federation—the Republic of Tatarstan, Stavropol Krai, Rostov, Tambov, Saratov, and Volgograd regions. Another eight tractors with R6 engines will roll off the assembly line of JSC “Petersburg Tractor Plant” in August.

The production of the R6 engine with a working volume of 13 liters is a strategic focus for the plant this year. After establishing serial delivery of the R6 (13 L) engines to customers, the plant team will begin implementing the project “Experimental design work and organization of production for R6 engines with a working volume of 15.2 and 18 liters.”
