The average daily open position of companies from the real sector of the economy in the money market of the Moscow Exchange in July 2026 exceeded 3 trillion rubles – the highest volume ever. The total volume of business transactions for the first seven months of 2026 amounted to 164 trillion rubles, which is twice as much compared to the same period last year.

For January-July 2026, the number of non-financial companies making transactions on the Moscow Exchange money market either directly or through brokers exceeded 10,000. The number of corporate participants increased by 16% compared to the same period in 2025.

“The total trading volume in the money market of the Moscow Exchange since the beginning of 2026 has increased by 40% year-on-year. July became a period of historically high activity. During the month, the total trading volume reached 168.8 trillion rubles, which became the absolute monthly maximum in the entire history of the market. Russian corporations, along with banks and financial companies, are important market participants steadily increasing their operations. The achievement of their financial goals is supported by market rates for placements and fund-raising close to the Bank of Russia’s key rate, high liquidity, as well as the convenience and reliability of exchange infrastructure. Our goal is the development of the financial system and the creation of conditions for boosting business activity and economic growth.”

Repo transactions are the main segment of the Moscow Exchange money market, providing companies with the opportunity to place and attract funds in Russian rubles, Chinese yuan, and other currencies secured by securities for a period ranging from one day (overnight) to one year.

The Moscow Exchange money market is one of the most important segments of the Russian financial market, through which financial companies, large, medium, and small businesses, as well as individual investors, manage cash liquidity.
