The SPbPU national team in sports orienteering performed successfully at the 10th All-Russian Summer Universiade. The result of three competitive days in Saransk was high personal achievements, prize-winning places in relays, and second place in the overall team standings.
The team “Black Bears — Polytechnic” at the Universiade included Anastasia Golubeva, Olga Shmailova, Polina Morozova, Anastasia Belyakova, Pavel Ivanov, Alexander Gumennikov, Mikhail Belyakov, and Mikhail Maksimenko. Coach — Tatyana Bevza.
In the cross sprint, Mikhail Maksimenko took first place, Anastasia Belyakova came third, Polina Morozova finished fourth, and Olga Shmaylova was eighth.
In the cross-classic race, Mikhail Maksimenko finished fourth. Polina Morozova and Pavel Ivanov took fifth places, Anastasia Belyakova — tenth.
In the cross relay, both our teams reached the podium: Polina Morozova, Olga Shmailova, and Anastasia Belyakova won gold, while Pavel Ivanov, Mikhail Belyakov, and Mikhail Maksimenko took bronze.

Personally, I want to say a big thank you to Tatyana Vyacheslavovna for the coaching work, from the selection process to this trip; we wouldn’t have managed without you. The program of the anniversary Universiade included competitions in 17 disciplines across 16 sports: badminton, basketball, boxing, volleyball, handball, judo, athletics, table tennis, swimming, rugby-7, sambo, wrestling (Greco-Roman and freestyle), orienteering, WTF taekwondo, football, and chess. Medals were contested in Saransk, Salavat, and Sirius.
