Before the meeting began, Mikhail Mishustin reviewed presentations on domestic tourism development projects.
M. Mishustin: Good day, dear friends, dear colleagues!
Before we begin our meeting, I want to sincerely thank Herman Oskarovich Gref, the colleagues from Sber who organized everything at the highest level. And for the traditional hospitality. And of course, our esteemed colleague – the governor. Andrey Anatolyevich, thank you for all the events currently taking place
It has already become a tradition to hold this meeting in the Altai Republic – one of the most beautiful places in Russia.
Today we will discuss the key issues of the development of domestic tourism and the hospitality industry. They concern the residents of our country, everyone involved in this field or in numerous related industries. And of course, those who use these services.
Just now, during the visit to the exhibition, we reviewed presentations of projects that were carried out, including with state support. Most of them are already at the final stage of implementation. And they serve as examples of cooperation between government authorities and business, which is helping to create the most modern tourist facilities in the Russian regions, expand infrastructure, and develop new growth points.
The contribution of tourism and the hospitality industry to GDP has been increasing over recent years. By the end of last year, it exceeded 3%. And by 2030, it should reach at least 5%. This is the task set before us by the head of state.
Every year, tens of millions of trips are made across the country. In the current year, over 43 million in the first half alone. Including foreign tourists – over 3 million.
Today, guests from 64 countries can enter our country with an electronic visa, the processing of which is significantly simpler. And the period of stay in Russia has been increased almost 2 times – to 30 days, I remind you, before it was only 16 days.
There has been a significantly larger number of visitors from China due to the introduction of a visa-free regime initiated by our leaders, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and Xi Jinping. Recently, its validity was extended until the end of 2027.
