Beijing, August 4 /Xinhua/ — Relevant Chinese authorities have sent 65,000 units of material resources to Shaanxi Province in the northwest of the country to support local government efforts in disaster relief following floods, the Chinese Ministry of Emergency Management reported on Monday.
The specified batch of material resources, which includes tents, folding beds, blankets, and sets of essential items, was jointly allocated by the Office of the State Committee for Disaster Prevention, Mitigation of Their Consequences and Assistance to Victims, the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the State Administration of Food and Material Reserves.
These resources will primarily be directed towards supporting local authorities’ efforts in emergency aid, evacuation, and accommodation of those affected.
In recent days, heavy rains have hit Shaanxi, resulting in a total of 46 peak flood levels recorded at 38 hydrological stations across 27 rivers. -0-
