Yerevan, August 2 /Xinhua/ — Armenian President Vaagn Khachaturyan on Sunday reappointed Nikol Pashinyan as the country’s prime minister. This was reported on the official website of the Armenian president.
The candidacy of N. Pashinyan was put forward by the parliamentary majority formed by the “Civil Contract” party following the regular elections to the National Assembly /parliament/ held on June 7, 2026.
Earlier on Sunday, at the first session of the newly convened parliament, the government of Armenia submitted its resignation in accordance with the constitution.
In the National Assembly of Armenia, following the recent elections, the “Civil Contract” party received 64 parliamentary mandates, while the opposition blocks “Strong Armenia” and “Armenia” received 29 and 12 mandates respectively. –0–
