Tehran, August 1 /Xinhua/ — Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned the United Kingdom against any military cooperation with the United States in carrying out strikes on Iranian territory.

Araghchi made this statement during a phone conversation with the UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband on Friday, emphasizing that any cooperation with “aggressors,” including under the pretext of existing defense agreements, would be “unacceptable,” the statement published by the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Saturday says.
A. Araghchi called the British government’s policy toward Iran “unjustified and inappropriate,” referring to London’s recent designation of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a national security threat and its “complicity” in two wars waged by the United States and Israel against Iran in recent months. He called on Britain to revise its approach to Tehran.
According to him, in accordance with international law and the Convention on the Definition of Aggression, granting permission to use the territory and facilities of a country for illegal attacks on another state is an act of aggression and grants the attacked country the right to self-defense.
A. Araghchi said that Iran has entered the diplomatic process with the United States in good faith and in June signed a memorandum of understanding with Washington aimed at ending the conflict, but Washington did not fulfill its obligations.
He also emphasized Iran’s efforts to establish operational mechanisms with Oman to manage navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, warning that third-party interference would only complicate the situation further.
