Joint-stock company “VAZINTERSERVICE” (an enterprise of the OAT Group, which is part of the PJSC “KAMAZ” structure) celebrates the 35th anniversary of its official founding. Today, JSC “VIS” is a reliable supplier of automotive components and an important link in the Russian automotive industry.
The starting point of the modern enterprise’s history is considered to be July 27, 1991, when JSC “VAZINTERSERVICE” was established and active re-profiling for the production of automotive components began. However, the roots of JSC “VIS” go back to 1953, when the Stavropol Left-Bank Repair and Mechanical Plant was founded in Tolyatti. The production site was an aircraft hangar brought from Germany as compensation for the damage inflicted on Russia during the Great Patriotic War. The plant specialized in major repairs of GAZ and ZIL vehicles, their units and assemblies. In the very first years, its own boiler house was built, providing heat to production and office facilities.
In the 1960s, the enterprise became part of Glavenergosroy Mechanization of the Ministry of Energy of the USSR. New tasks were set for the plant: repair of automobiles, telescopic towers, drilling machines, compressors, forklift trucks, and autocranes of various brands.
At the beginning of 1971, by decision of the USSR Ministry of Energy, the Togliatti Repair and Mechanical Plant and the Zhiguli Repair and Mechanical Plant were merged. The newly formed Left-Bank production unit of the “Energoremash” plant retained its previous production profile.
The late 1980s to early 1990s was a turning point: the enterprise began close cooperation with AvtoVAZ, shifting to the production of auto components and vehicle modification. On July 27, 1991, CJSC “VAZINTERSERVICE” was officially established.
Today, JSC “VIS” is an important link in the Russian automotive industry. The enterprise has earned the trust of car owners and the largest domestic automakers thanks to consistently high product quality that meets international quality management standards. The main areas of activity include engine parts, electrical products made from structural plastics, side mirrors, door handles, air filter elements and assembled filters, design and production of pedal and handbrake modules, as well as components for other productions within the OAT Group.
On the occasion of the company’s anniversary, the management of JSC VIS congratulated the team and wished them new achievements and confident development. In honor of the jubilee, the best employees were awarded certificates for being included on the company’s Honor Roll.
