Conversation between Mikhail Mishustin and the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Aisen Nikolayev.
Today we have inspected the creative cluster “Labor Quarter,” and labor is probably the most important indicator not only in the creation of the creative industry but also in any economic and indeed all other fields.
Yakutia is actively developing today, new facilities are being built. The University of Creative Industries has shown that many young people are still looking for their path. And, you know, I was simply amazed at how many creative industry directions have opened here. It seems to me that all of this will significantly influence, among other things, the quality of the gross regional product and, of course, the training of qualified personnel.

Once again, allow me to welcome you to our Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and express our gratitude for the support from the Government of the Russian Federation regarding the economic development of Yakutia.
Yakutia is the largest region in the Russian Federation, the size of India. And of course, we understand that our development largely influences the development of the Far East and the entire country.
Trip
Our economy remains stable. At the end of last year, our gross regional product exceeded 2.6 trillion rubles – with a growth of 0.7%. This year, we are growing by about one percent – based on the results of the half-year.
At the same time, I want to note that we maintain an absolute first place in the country in diamond mining. And despite all the difficulties, the company “Alrosa” remains quite stable.
For the first time in history, we have become the leading country in silver production. We produced 586 tons last year.
