Algeria, July 31 /Xinhua/ — At least 25 people died and 44 others were injured in a passenger bus accident that occurred on Friday in Boumerdès Province in northern Algeria, about 55 km east of the country’s capital. This was reported by the General Directorate of Civil Protection of Algeria.
As the agency noted, the incident occurred at 9:41 a.m. local time /08:41 GMT/ on National Highway No. 24, when the bus went off the road, overturned, and fell into a ravine.
The administration reported that it sent three rescue vehicles and 11 ambulances to the scene of the incident.
Rescue teams continue evacuation operations and provide medical assistance, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals. –0–
