Beijing, July 29 /Xinhua/ — China firmly opposes the overgeneralization of the concept of national security and the persecution of Chinese companies by the United States, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said on Wednesday.
Mao Ning made this statement at the latest departmental press conference in response to a question about the US Federal Communications Commission’s ban on the import of humanoid robots on the grounds of national security.
Mao Ning noted that protectionism will not make the United States more competitive and will only harm the interests of American companies and consumers, adding that China will continue to do whatever is necessary to firmly safeguard the fair and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies.
