Saint Petersburg, July 25 /Xinhua/ — China is actively working on developing artificial intelligence in a fair direction for the benefit of all humanity, Igor Khodachek, director of the Eurasia Research Center at the European University in Saint Petersburg, said in an interview with Xinhua News Agency.
The expert noted that today the leaders in artificial intelligence development are the USA and China. On July 16, a ceremony was held in Shanghai for the signing of an agreement to establish the World Organization for Artificial Intelligence Cooperation (WAICO). I. Among the current joint projects involving AI within the framework of the SCO, I. Hodacek noted the development of universities and cities. “SCO efforts can be directed towards creating joint projects in education, training specialists and startups in the AI sector. Urban renovation in Central Asian countries and infrastructure construction projects using AI are also relevant,” he said.
