Almaty, July 23 /Xinhua/ — From September 2025 to July 17, 2026, Kazakhstan exported 13.5 million tons of grain and flour in grain equivalent, which is 12.5 percent higher than the figure for the same period last year. This was reported on Thursday by the Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan, citing data from the national railway company “Kazakhstan Temir Zholy.”
The main drivers of growth were supplies to traditional importing countries in Central Asia, as well as to Afghanistan. Exports to Uzbekistan increased by 37 percent to 5.6 million tons, to Kyrgyzstan by 1.4 times to 504 thousand tons, to Afghanistan by 59 percent to 2.2 million tons, and to Turkmenistan by 34 percent to 210 thousand tons.
“Positive freight statistics confirm the high demand for Kazakhstani agricultural products, as well as indicate the effectiveness of the measures taken to develop export logistics and expand trade and economic cooperation with foreign partners,” noted the Kazakh Ministry of Agriculture.
