Brussels, July 23 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday, the European Commission (EC) fined Google 890 million euros (about 1.02 billion US dollars) for violating the European Union’s Digital Markets Act, accusing the company of giving advantages to its own services in search results and imposing restrictions on app developers in Google Play.
The European Commission imposed a fine on Google of 430 million euros for restrictions imposed on app developers, as well as a separate fine of 460 million euros for giving priority to its own services in search results.
