Sichuan, July 23 /Xinhua/ — On Thursday, China successfully launched a new data relay satellite into space from the Sichuan launch center in Sichuan Province (Southwest China).
The satellite “Tianlian II-06” was launched at 20:00 Beijing time using the “Long March-3B” carrier rocket and successfully reached its designated orbit.
The spacecraft will primarily perform data relay and telemetry, tracking, and control (TT&C) functions for manned spacecraft and orbital stations, as well as for resource satellites in low and medium Earth orbits. In addition, “Tianlian II-06” will be able to provide TT&C during space launches.
The current flight mission became the 658th for the Long March series launch vehicles. –0–
