In Moscow Department of Information Technology reminded that city residents can always stay connected using the city Wi-Fi network available in the capital’s parks and squares, on central streets, as well as in libraries, cultural and sports institutions. “Today, the city’s Wi-Fi network includes about 30,000 access points and continues to grow, covering key public spaces in the capital. Thus, in 2025, it was expanded by two thousand new points. Since the beginning of this year, the total number of connections to the city Wi-Fi network has exceeded 26 million, and the volume of data transmitted is over 12 million gigabytes. Free internet is especially in demand in places of summer attraction for residents and tourists. The most popular places for connection remain Okhotny Ryad, Theater and Paveletskaya squares, as well as Kitay-gorod,” said Dmitry Golovin, Deputy Head of the Moscow Department of Information Technology.
To connect, you need to select Moscow_WiFi_Free from the list of networks on your device, authorize in the browser using Mos ID (an account on mos.ru) or an SMS message. Then, press the “Connect to the internet” button. After this, you can freely use the Wi-Fi network throughout the city. Re-identification, in accordance with Russian legislation requirements, must be done once every three months.
