At the II Russian-Chinese Forum, which will take place in Khabarovsk from September 4–6, more than 40 thematic platforms, business, sports, and cultural events dedicated to cooperation between the two countries will be organized. The forum will gather more than 3,000 representatives from business, government authorities, and creative industries from Russia and the PRC. The event will be held under the slogan “Greater Ussuriysk: cooperation in the joint development of the island.” The operator is the Roscongress Foundation.

Program of the II Russian-Chinese Forum
“China is a strategic partner of Russia. We see prospects for implementing joint projects in the fields of technology and the development of high-tech industries, international trade, and investments. But now, not only strengthening economic partnership comes first, but also the development of good neighborliness, intensification of cultural exchange, and public relations. One of the points of such contact can be Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island. We must showcase the interaction of our countries as an example of harmonious cooperation between two states, business, and people who want to become part of the global friendship between Russia and China,” said Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev.
As part of the business program, issues related to industrial cooperation, the development of transport corridors, export deliveries, as well as the implementation of joint projects in energy, science, education, and creative industries will be discussed. Additionally, questions regarding the use of renewable energy sources, environmental protection, improvement of medical diagnostics, and the training of qualified personnel will be considered.

We build cooperation in such a way that each track supports the others: business gains new markets, while cultural and educational projects receive practical benefits and recognition. A vivid example of this approach will be the development of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island: here, manufacturing facilities, tourist routes, and spaces for festivals, student exchanges, and meetings will be located side by side. At the forum, we will assemble this mosaic—discussing not only conditions for residents but also scenarios of how the territory will become a place of lively dialogue among the inhabitants of our countries. The forum’s program is designed so that every participant can find their growth point: entrepreneurs—a platform for negotiations and support measures; university representatives—opportunities for partnerships and launching joint educational programs; young authors—a chance to present their ideas and find their first like-minded people. Cultural and sports events will become a natural bridge for informal communication and the search for new collaborations.””Our goal is not individual projects, but a sustainable ecosystem of connections that will continue to function after the forum,” emphasized Dmitry Demeshin, the governor of Khabarovsk Krai.
The key event will be the plenary session “Russian-Chinese Cooperation: Together Towards Sustainable Development and Prosperity.” During the discussion, they will address the state and prospects of the strategic partnership between the two countries, the situation of border regions, and determine new vectors for the development of cooperation.
Looking back at the results of the first Russia-China Forum, which took place in May of last year, one can note the high activity of participants from both sides. At that time, several important cooperation documents were signed, and various events in the fields of culture, sports, and education were held, which yielded rich fruits. Preparations for the current, second forum are also in full swing. This clearly demonstrates the sincere efforts and foresight displayed by the government of the Khabarovsk Territory in implementing the important agreements between the heads of the two states and striving to take cooperation with Chinese provinces to a new level. I express my sincere admiration for this. Governor Dmitry Demeshin often says: “A man’s word does not fall to the ground!” The government of the Khabarovsk Territory confirms this motto in practice, turning plans for developing cooperation with China into concrete, practical steps. There is an old saying in China: “The more firewood you add, the higher the flame rises.” The flame of regional Russia-China cooperation will not go out as long as we, friends on both sides, continue to faithfully add firewood to it and move forward hand in hand.As the Consul General, I fully support this idea and am confident that the current forum will become another broad platform for strengthening friendship and deepening cooperation between our border regions. My colleagues and I will, as before, play a constructive role and, together with our Russian partners, will make every effort to ensure that the II Russian-Chinese Forum is successful and yields rich results,” concluded Jiang Xiaoyang, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Khabarovsk.
The forum will host a meeting of the working group on the connection of Bolshoy Ussuriysky Island and a district meeting on the implementation of the national project “International Cooperation and Export.”
Special attention will be paid to issues related to the conduct of the cross Years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of education.
At the Russian-Chinese Forum, they will discuss the development of tourist routes and the promotion of tourism products, taking into account the visa-free regime between Russia and China, as well as hold events to strengthen business cooperation – an investment exhibition, B2B negotiations, and project pitch sessions. For youth, a platform “Bridges of Solutions: Development of Greater Ussuriysk” and a series of business events will be organized.
The forum’s cultural program will reflect the diversity of traditions of Russia and China. It will include creative and gastronomic events, musical and theatrical performances. The sports program includes a friendly ice hockey match between Russia and China, and the international sailing regatta “FuYuan – Khabarovsk” on the Amur River.
