The “Solntsevo” gallery invites you to a master class on creating the “Bird of Happiness,” dedicated to the 150th anniversary of the Russian artist Ivan Bilibin.
First, participants will watch a film about the life and work of the artist, learn about the features of Bilibin’s style and what influenced his choice of artistic direction, as well as about the master’s contribution to Russian culture. Then, guests will examine illustrations by Ivan Bilibin, including the image of the Firebird, and birds by Viktor Vasnetsov — Gamayun, Sirin and Alkonost, Maurice Maeterlinck’s Blue Bird, as well as works by the contemporary artist Irina Iva.
After that, there will be a workshop where each participant will create their own “Bird of Happiness” in the Russian Art Nouveau style, using symbols associated with dreams, beauty, wisdom, and happiness.
