Washington, July 21 /Xinhua/ — US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that the armed Houthi group based in Yemen has not recently posed a threat in the Red Sea. At the same time, he promised that the US armed forces would respond if necessary.

“Until this happens,” D. Trump told reporters during a meeting at the White House with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun. “If something like that occurs, we’ll deal with it.”

“They haven’t had problems with us for a long time, including during this /American-Iranian/ conflict,” noted D. Trump, referring to the Houthis. “I think if something like that happens, we’ll just have to deal with it,” he added.
