Moscow, July 20 /Xinhua/ — The growth in the number of visits by Chinese tourists to Russia in 2026 is preliminarily estimated at 27-35 percent. This was reported by TASS citing Maya Lomidze, Executive Director of the Russian Tour Operators Association.
According to her, the extension of the visa-free entry right for Chinese citizens to the Russian Federation until December 31, 2027, will play a significant role in increasing tourist flow. Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the corresponding decree.
Other growth factors will include a convenient visa-free group travel regime for Chinese tour operators, the launch of a cross-border cable car in the Amur region of the Russian Federation, and the expansion of air traffic between the two countries. –0–
