The main theme of the XII St. Petersburg International Forum of United Cultures, which will take place from September 24 to 26 in St. Petersburg, is “United Cultures – Common Values.”
“Today, the issues of preserving cultural heritage, historical memory, traditional spiritual and moral values, and national identity are acquiring special significance. The Forum of United Cultures creates opportunities for open professional dialogue, exchange of best practices, and the development of joint solutions aimed at advancing humanitarian cooperation. I am confident that the work of the thematic sections, led by leading representatives of the professional community, will allow for the formation of a substantial agenda reflecting current challenges and cultural development tasks,” emphasized Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova.
In the development of this theme, the work of the business program will be organized into ten thematic sections, combining the key areas of modern cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The organizational committee has approved the team of curators who will determine the substantive content of each thematic direction.
The focus of the forum participants is on issues of preserving cultural heritage, strengthening cultural sovereignty, the role of education and media, the development of theater, cinema, museology, musical art, and circus, as well as the influence of modern technologies on shaping the cultural code of the future. Each thematic section will become a space for professional dialogue and the development of practical initiatives aimed at advancing international humanitarian cooperation.
The curators of the thematic sections included Konstantin Ernst, General Director of Channel One; Yulia Kupina, Director of the Russian Ethnographic Museum; Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education; Andrey Kondrashov, General Director of TASS; Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage Museum; Alexey Shalashov, General Director of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic; Olga Khomova, General Director of the State Academic Capella of Saint Petersburg; Grigory Zaslavsky, Rector of the Russian Institute of Theatre Arts – GITIS; Roman Karmanov, General Director of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives; Vladimir Mashkov, Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of Russia; Evgeny Mironov, Artistic Director of the State Theatre of Nations; Valery Fokin, President of the Alexandrinsky Theatre; and Edgard Zapashny, General Director of the Bolshoi Moscow State Circus.
