As part of the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum, Ningbo Engineering, a member of SINOPEC Engineering, officially signed a contract with the Uzbek company Allied Biofuels FELLC for the basic and detailed design of a sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production complex in Uzbekistan.
This project will become the first major full-cycle complex for the production of aviation biofuel in Central Asia, combining the processing of biomass raw materials, the production of “green” hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuel, electro-synthetic aviation fuel (e-SAF), and “green” diesel. The products will meet the needs of the aviation sector in Central Asia, as well as be supplied to the markets of the Middle East and Europe, providing a significant effect in terms of reducing carbon emissions.
SINOPEC leverages its advantages in resource integration and key technologies to jointly create a model project in the clean fuel sector in the region with partners, strengthen Uzbekistan’s position as the aviation hub of Central Asia, accelerate Central Asia’s transition to clean energy, and promote the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” through practical “green” cooperation.
