Moscow, July 20 /Xinhua/ — The visa-free entry regime to Russia for Chinese citizens has been extended until December 31, 2027. This follows from a decree by Russian President Vladimir Putin, published on Monday on the legal information portal.

As noted in the document, an amendment is made to the decree of the President of the Russian Federation dated December 1, 2025, “On the temporary procedure for entry into the Russian Federation and exit from the Russian Federation by citizens of the People’s Republic of China”: the words “until September 14, 2026 inclusive” are replaced with the words “until December 31, 2027 inclusive.”

In May, during a state visit to China, V. Putin stated that the countries will continue the visa-free regime.

On May 20, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, Guo Jiakun, announced at a regular departmental press conference that, in order to further simplify people-to-people exchanges between China and Russia, the Chinese side has decided to extend the visa-free regime for citizens of the Russian Federation until December 31, 2027. –0–
