The visa-free entry procedure to Russia for Chinese citizens has been extended until December 31, 2027. The corresponding decree was signed by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin.
“The decision of the President of Russia to extend visa-free entry for Chinese citizens until the end of 2027 is not just a diplomatic step. It creates unprecedented conditions for expanding business contacts, tourism, youth exchanges, cooperation in science and sports. The extension of visa-free travel once again confirms the strategic partnership that is enshrined in documents and implemented in practice. Recently, it marked the 25th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation – such actions are a vivid confirmation of its effectiveness. Last year, about 2 million Russians visited China, and about 1 million Chinese citizens visited Russia. I note that already in the first quarter of this year, the flow of Russian tourists to China increased by 60%, and the flow of Chinese tourists to Russia by 25%. By the end of 2027, up to 6 million mutual trips are expected. I am confident these will contribute to the economic growth of both countries and expand exchanges between civilizations. The importance of this was emphasized by the Chairman of the PRC, Xi Jinping,” said Deputy Prime Minister, co-chairman of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Commission for organizing regular meetings of heads of governments Dmitry Chernyshenko.
