Algeria, July 18 /Xinhua/ — The ruling party of Algeria, the “National Liberation Front” /FLN/, won the largest number of seats in the parliamentary elections held on July 2. This is evidenced by the final results announced on Saturday.

As reported by the Chairwoman of the Constitutional Court Leyla Aslaui after reviewing appeals against the preliminary results, the FNO holds 91 seats out of 407 in the National People’s Assembly /the lower house of parliament/.

The party “National Democratic Union” took second place with 74 mandates, followed by the “Front of the Future,” which received 56 seats.

According to data published by the Constitutional Court, the elections were marked by a low voter turnout of 21.25 percent.
