Tehran, July 17 /Xinhua/ — At least one person was killed and seven others were injured Thursday evening as a result of a new wave of U.S. strikes on the Hormozgan province in southern Iran, the state news agency IRNA reported.
The report states that strikes were carried out on two bridges in Bandar-Hamir district, resulting in the death of a driver traveling on one of the bridges.
In addition, as a result of a US strike on a residential area called Allah Akbar in the port city of Bandar Abbas, seven people were injured, IRNA reported, adding that a telecommunications tower in the city was also attacked.
The agency also reported six consecutive explosions near the Hamidiya district in the southwestern Khuzestan province, as well as three explosions near the airport in the Iranshahr district in the southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan province. At least one American shell hit the airport. –0–
