Astana, July 17 /Xinhua/ — A July morning in Astana greeted residents with a clear sky. Early in the morning, several Kazakhstani scholars had already gathered at the exhibition stand of the fifth volume of the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” in Russian. They enthusiastically flipped through and lively discussed the newly received copies of the book.
On the morning of July 15, the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, hosted the presentation of the fifth volume of this fundamental work. More than 200 guests from China and Kazakhstan, including representatives of publishing circles, media, analytical centers, universities, and businesses, gathered there. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, participants engaged in a deep exchange of views on topics such as the China-Kazakhstan community of a shared future and the joint construction of the “Belt and Road.”
A representative of the People’s Party of Kazakhstan, Islam Sunkar, in his speech noted that the Communist Party of China has gone through a great journey of more than a century. China’s experience shows that strategic vision, long-term planning, strong state institutions, a sense of government responsibility to society, as well as firm consistency and determination in achieving set goals are of colossal importance.
Gulnar Shaimergenova, director of the Kazakhstan Center for Chinese Studies, who was directly involved in translating Xi Jinping’s works into Kazakh, shared that working on the translation of this book became a “special learning experience” for her.
“Translation is always a deep immersion into the text, into the logic and intonation of the author. And it was precisely this work that allowed me to see behind the official formulations a coherent and consistent system of views,” she emphasized.
“This volume puts forward provisions on national and global governance, presenting Chinese approaches to addressing pressing contemporary issues. Through these materials, the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind is once again unveiled — an idea that the Chinese leadership proposes as a unifying principle for a changing world,” noted G. Shaimergenova.
Vice-Rector of the L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Gulmira Bekmanova emphasized in an interview with the Xinhua agency that China’s successful experience in public administration and modernization is crucial for conducting specialized research in Kazakhstani universities and helps young people better understand China’s development processes. She shared her intention to transfer the works of Chairman Xi Jinping to her university’s library so that Kazakhstani students could become more familiar with the experience of Chinese modernization.
Not far from the venue of the presentation runs a light rail transit (LRT) line under construction by a Chinese company in Astana. This large-scale infrastructure project, which will connect key districts of the capital, serves as a vivid example of practical cooperation and the joint progress of the two countries on the path of modernization.
In the eyes of many scientists, the book “Xi Jinping on State Governance” is like a sturdy bridge of ideas that allows different countries to find common value guidelines and borrow useful development experience on the path to modernization.
