Minsk, July 16 /Xinhua/ — The first meeting of the Belarus-Saudi Business Council participants took place in Minsk on Wednesday. Representatives of government bodies and major exporters took part in the event. Corresponding information was published by the Belta news agency on the same day.
The chairman of the Belarus-Saudi Business Council, Rasim Ismailov, noted that the two countries have potential for developing trade and joint projects. According to him, one of the promising areas is the export of food products.
“Belarus already supplies a significant volume of dairy products. Partners may also be interested in textiles, flax, metal, and chemical products. It is also worth noting that Saudi Arabia is implementing the Vision 2030 program, which involves a large number of construction projects. Belarusian companies can participate in these as well,” he emphasized, adding that Belarus has many investment programs and projects that may interest representatives of Saudi Arabia’s business circles.
The Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Belarus to the UAE / concurrently to Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain / Igor Bely reported that digitalization is a possible area for cooperation between the two countries.
In turn, the director of the National Export Support Center of Belarus, Nikolai Borisevich, noted that the work of the business council will help Belarusian exporters enter and establish themselves in the Saudi Arabian market. –0–
