The 2026 admission campaign is taking place under the slogan “You are the main hero!” because at the Polytechnic University everyone gets a chance to build a successful career. 33,630 people have already submitted more than 174,000 applications across all fields of study. The number of enrollment acceptances submitted to the university now exceeds the number of acceptances submitted by the same date last year by more than 1.5 times.
We expect the polytechnic family to grow by more than 6,000 students in the budget-funded form of higher education programs and about 5,000 students studying on a paid basis. The steady high interest from applicants indicates trust in the Polytechnic and the correctness of the chosen strategy.
Not a novelty, but a stable trend — fully digital submission of documents to the university. This year, the Polytechnic not only accepts documents exclusively through the “Gosuslugi” portal, but also processes documents in the federal Admissions Service system. The submission and processing of documents are organized so that it happens quickly and easily for both applicants and admissions committee staff.
Polytech has strong engineering schools, and fields related to digital technologies, robotics, energy, and construction have traditionally been in high demand. Fields related to information technology also remain popular.
In addition to the classical engineering and IT fields, this year there is a noticeable increase in interest in interdisciplinary programs that lie at the intersection of several sciences. For example, the program “Intelligent Systems in the Humanities” at the Humanities Institute. Applicants increasingly want to combine deep technical knowledge with an understanding of human behavior and social processes. There is also interest in fields such as “Chemical Technology,” “Biotechnology,” and “Statistics.”
The number of applicants who submitted documents is higher than last year. For those entering based on olympiad results or who scored high on the Unified State Exam (USE), there is a talent support system through special grants upon enrollment. For example, those who enrolled without entrance exams or scored at least 290 points on the USE receive a grant of 120,000 rubles, with the possibility of extending the grant in the next semester. For those who enrolled in engineering, natural sciences, and IT fields, there is also grant support of 50,000 rubles. This is how the university supports those who distinguished themselves even at the stage of preparation for admission.
Let’s separately note the “Petrov Wave” project. This is a real chance for guaranteed enrollment. If an applicant’s score is higher than the passing score of the “Petrov Wave” for the corresponding field, but the applicant did not get through the competition for a state-funded spot, then they will be enrolled in the Polytechnic University at spots financed by the university.

Until the end of the acceptance of enrollment consents for the full-time budget-based form of education, the passing score of the “Petrovskaya Volna” may decrease or remain unchanged.
After the completion of enrollment for the budget quota, if the applicant scored the “Petrov Wave” points but did not get into the budget quota through the competition, the admissions committee will contact him and invite him to the university to sign a contract with a 100% discount.
