Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko held a meeting on the implementation of projects to create world-class campuses and advanced schools.
The event was attended by the First Deputy Minister of Construction and Housing and Communal Services Alexander Lomakin, Deputy Ministers of Science and Higher Education Ayrat Gatiyatov and Andrey Omelchuk, Deputy Minister of Education Andrey Nikolaev, and representatives of the regions.
“A constellation of modern university campuses is being created in our country as part of the national project “Youth and Children.” By the order of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, there should be at least 40 of them by 2036. Significant investments are being directed to the regions for this infrastructure, which not only contributes to the effective development of the scientific and educational sphere but also becomes a driver of socio-economic growth of the regions. The Head of State has already inaugurated new facilities of the campuses under construction. The key task is to ensure their further high-quality and timely commissioning. I ask the regions to approach this issue responsibly,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the importance of the personal involvement of the heads of the regions in the implementation of projects.
For the first time, representatives of the regions implementing their projects within the framework of the third selection wave participated in the meeting. Addressing them, Dmitry Chernyshenko added that it is important to take into account the experience gained by participants of the first and second waves during implementation.
“Today, two campuses have already become focal points for talented youth – the comfortable innovative spaces are used by students of Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Ural Federal University. Another 12 projects are in active implementation, including the country’s leading engineering universities, National Research Moscow State University of Civil Engineering and MSTU ‘Stankin’. The campus of Kant Baltic Federal University “Kantiana” in Kaliningrad is in the final stretch. The priority remains the unconditional adherence to deadlines and high quality standards for all constructed facilities,” noted the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of Russia, Andrey Omelchuk.
The meeting also discussed the progress of creating advanced schools. Work on them is being carried out within the framework of the federal project “Leading Schools” of the national project “Youth and Children”.
